The Perfect Red Lip

"I love red lipstick, but I just can't wear it!" This is a statement I hear over and over again from my clients. Au Contraire! Anybody can wear red lipstick, it just depends on the shade that is right for you. Reds com in so many combinations, it is almost impossible not to find on to fit you. Orangey reds, brown reds, pink reds and blue, all reds have an undertone. The trick is to find the one that is right for your skintone. You must take into consideration you hair color and pay attention to the amount of color you have in your lips. Be sure to use a lipliner so that your lipstick does not bleed. Make sure it is a perfect match or slightly deeper (not darker) so that it blends easily. Most of all, have fun! Go to your favorite beauty hang out and seek the help of a professionall artist. If you have to try on a hundred lipsticks to find the perfect one, then so be it! That is what they are there for.

Okay Beauties! Last week we covered winterizing your face. This week let's cover the body. There are three things you can do to keep that body soft and supple during the chilly weather.

1. Wear cloths that are slightly tight on you. This should help you feel full faster, and keep you from eating too much food.

2.Keep your portions small. Try to load up on salad and vegetables, and take just tiny amounts of anything else.

3. Don't let yourself get too hungry. If you go to a party and you're starving, everything will look even more tasty than normal.

4. Walking around the shopping mall and stores is great exercise, and so is cleaning the house. In addition to those activities, decorating can be quite intensive workout as well.

5. Allow yourself one small serving of a cookie or piece of candy at holiday events during the holiday season. Just remember to kick your workout up a notch later.

Packing 101

The plans have been made and now it is time to pack. This formula works for any trip, no matter the length. Use it to determine how many outfits you will truely need and to make the task of packing stress free.

Number of days of trip divided by 2 (for bottoms) x 1.5 (for tops) + 1 for (going out dress/skirt), an all weather jacket, 2 pairs of everyday shoes, 1 pair of stilettos, a handful of jewelry, 1 clutch, 1 everyday bag. Your travel day outfit can be the same for each day your on the road. Your math should look like this:

6 days of travel /2 = 3 bottoms x 2 = 4 to 5 tops + 1 going out dress/skirt, etc. etc. and of course, don't forget to pack your underwear, pajamas and hoisery.

Do What the Pros Do...Part Two

So you've gotten your materials together and are ready to take the next step to Nirvana. It's time to decide how many categories you want in your book and what they are going to be. For example, I am a makeup artist that works with corporate clients, may shoot inside a studio, outside in the woods or attend an event involving my industry. Not only that, I have a personal life to dress for as well. My categories are: Fool Proof, Dressy, Casual Chic and Outdoor. Fool Proof is the VIP section of the book. You just can't let any outfit cross the velvet rope! Fool Proof outfits are outfits that everytime you wear them, you have at least one person compliment you on it. I definitely believe every look book needs to have this section. So brainstorm and decide what your sections are going to be, label your dividers, put them in your notebook and join me Friday as we begin to put our book together... Until then, You've Been Marked!
